Aztec and Mayan Adaptation

Post by Seethyr »

In the 90's I got hooked on the Maztica setting and just never found my way out of it. I know there aren't too many of us left that still love the setting, but I'm still writing adventures, accessories and stories for it because it's still fun for me. I made a Yahoo group called Maztica Alive! for anyone that might want to check it out.

Of course, the files are also easily adaptable to any Aztec/Mayan setting, or even just in a jungle. Enjoy!

I really love Aztec and Maya mythology, but I could never get into Maztica. I always kept asking "Why aren't w in Teotihuacan again?"

There's no doubt it could've used some work. The magic was too week for certain. Others claim it was too derivative of the real world but that never bothered me in the least. Have you ever gotten the chance to read FMQ1 Cities of Gold? That is an absolute gem of an adventure and accessory.

Also I think the little tidbits of what fans have done over the years to improve it and convert to 3.x have made it a much better setting. That's one of the reasons I tried to collect it all in one place.
